How a Living Canvas Is Created and How Much It Costs

First, we will meet you and discuss your ideas. Once you decide which canvas you would like to animate, you will send us its image. We will then prepare a proposal outlining the plot and budget—the cost of animation directly depends on the artistic technique of the original artwork. After reviewing and finalizing the proposed plan, we will begin animating the canvas.

The company “Plastilin Media” was founded in Finland by the creators of internationally acclaimed animated series, broadcast in 170 countries. Our team has been producing animated films together for over 15 years.

We are also engaged in various international projects, such as a co-production with the Canadian animation studio Lakeside Animation. Recently, Plastilin Media OY became a co-founder of The Association of the Turkic Animation (ATA), which brings together animators, studios and creative professionals of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan. One of Plastilin Media co-founders, Oktai Yusibov, is the chairman of ATA, giving us strong connections in Central Asia.

Our specialists have extensive experience in collaborating with museums. They have created dynamic multimedia projects for some of the world’s most renowned museums, including the Hermitage Museum, the Museum of Anthropology (Kunstkamera), the State Historical Museum, the Russian Museum, and many others.

Through these collaborations, we have produced a series of short films designed to popularize museum art collections through animation.

The Canvas Tales animated shorts tell the story behind specific paintings, offering an imaginative take on what may have happened before or after the moment captured on canvas. This approach, often infused with humor and irony, helps viewers connect more deeply with art and grasp its hidden meanings.

Another example of our museum co-productions is the 12-episode educational animated series Black Square, which brings the world’s greatest masterpieces to life, showing how they find their place in our world.
